Free Pick: Over 43

The Eagles are healthy and have Brian Westbrook back in the lineup. Seeing that the Eagles are averaging 27.7 points per game and Seattle is allowing 26.3, it is reasonable to assume that Philly will put up 25-30 points on the board. Additionally, the Seahawks could be without Patrick Kearney and Lofa Tatupu. The Seahawks have not been a very efficient team offensively but have been relative successful at generating points at home this season.

Free Pick: Packers +5.5

I would hate betting against the only undefeated team in the league with a 7-0 ATS record this season. However, an upset in this matchup would make a lot of sense. The Packers are well rested as they are coming off their bye week and are very likely going to have James Jones, Atari Bigby and Al Harris back in the lineup. All three of these players are playmakers and will contribute towards Green Bay’s success versus Tennessee.

Free Pick: Detroit +13

Logically, it would make sense to pick Chicago for a few reasons. First they demolished the Lions 34-7 in their previous meeting this season. Additionally, the Bears could have Brandon Lloyd, Nathan Vasher and Charles Tillman back from injuries. However, this season double digit underdogs have a dominant 12-1 record. There are several reasons for this.

Free Pick: Cleveland -1

After losing its first 3 and only generating an average of only 9 points per game, the Browns have rebounded nicely winning 3 of their last 4, including an impressive 35-14 blowout over the Giants. During that span, Cleveland’s offense has finally begun clicking and as a result the Browns have been averaging 22.25 points per game in that stretch.

Platinum Pick: Over 37

This is another exciting Monday nighter featuring two of the strongest teams in the league. The reason the total is only at 37 is because both teams are defensive powerhouses. However, this season Monday night football games have been full of surprises and currently there is a profitable streak for betting the over. The over record is now 9-0-1 for MNF games this year. With a total set at only 37, the opportunity for betting the over becomes even more attractive.

The Bengals have been absolutely terrible this season. If Carson Palmer sits for the rest of the season they will become last year’s Miami Dolphins and risk having a potentially winless season. It has proven to be quite profitable betting against the Bengals this season, particularly with Ryan Fitzpatrick as quarterback.

Platinum Pick: Philadelphia -7

Philadelphia has a lethal weapon that can completely change the outcome of a game. His name is Brian Westbrook. Betting on Philly with Westbrook in the lineup has been quite profitable this season. The Eagles are 4-1 against the spread this season when Westbrook suits up. The Eagles covered a 9 point spread against the Falcons last game thanks to Westbrook’s 39 yard rushing touchdown at the end of the game.

Tennessee has proven that they are the ultimate team to beat by remaining the only undefeated team in the NFL at 7-0 with a convincing 31-21 victory over Indianapolis (colts vs titans). In this recap we will take a look at the most disappointing teams through week 8 and evaluate if they still have a chance at making the playoffs and what we can expect from them here on in.

I have to admit the game between the Indianapolis Colts vs Tennessee Titans is a very tough game to handicap. Tennessee is favoured by 4 and with good reason. They are undefeated and have more or less dominated the opposition in every outing. The Colts have yet to wake up. They appeared to have rediscovered their dominant form in their impressive 31-3 thumping over Baltimore 2 weeks ago. Then they get demolished by Green Bay last week.

On a night when the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings will square off it should be an interesting one, especially since it will be the last game these two teams will face one another before the Winter Classic at Wrigley Field on January 1st, 2009. The Wings have been red hot on the road so far this season and are looking for their fourth consecutive road win. This will be a difficult task for the Red Wings who have played last night against Atlanta since the Blackhawks have been on a roll going 2-0 since Joel Quennville has replaced Denis Savard as head coach.

Free Pick: Capitals Moneyline

So far this season, the Capitals and Stars have failed to live up to the expectations set for them by the fans and media. Part of the reason for the Stars failing to live up to expectations so far this season can be attributed to the dismantling of the Ribeiro, Eriksson and Morrow line. During the final leg of the Stars road trip against the Islanders, the #1 line was been put back together and they responded with conviction producing 4 goals and 6 assists. Marty Turco seems to be still searching for his A-game giving up a league high 29 goals thus far.

Tonight the Montreal Canadiens will be ending their home stand against Western Conference teams for the next little while. So far, the Ducks have won their last 2 straight games against the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators. The Ducks were pretty convincing against the Senators last night until they let the Senators back into the game but still ended up winning the game 4-3. The Ducks are trying to rebound from the start of a tough season by losing there first 4 games and then winning the following 3 out of 4. Jean-Sebastien Giguere will be looking to have a solid game tonight in front of his friends and family living in Montreal.
