Cleveland Cavaliers vs Detroit Pistons: Spread
Free Pick: Cleveland -11
The was no bigger mismatch to start the NBA playoffs this time around than the Cavs against the Pistons.
Usually when these two go head to head it is an all out battle, but the Cavs have now surpassed the Pistons by leaps and bounds. Not only are the Cavs just the better all around team hands down, but the Pistons just have absolutely no answer for LeBron James who literally scored at will in game one.
Even when the Pistons put Tayshawn Prince on LeBron is absolutely no challenge for him to play him like a puppet like MJ used to do to the Pistons back in the day.
The spread for this game as of right now is -11 in favor of the Cleveland Cavaliers and that is generous in my opinion because I don’t see how the Pistons will be able to keep the Cavs from beating them by at least 20.
All odds and trends are against the Detroit Pistons in this match up, here are a few to keep in mind:
- Pistons are 1-5 in their last six road games that is just awful.
- Pistons are 1-7 in their last eight games after a loss of more than 10 points.
- Pistons are 0-4 in their last four games as an underdog.
- Pistons are 0-5 in their last five games they have played.
- Pistons are 0-5 ATS in their last five games against Eastern Conference teams.
Those are just a few trends that stuck out to me that makes me think that there is no way that the Pistons will be coming away from Cleveland without another loss. Take the Cavs to cover the -11 point spread.
