Los Angeles Lakers vs Utah Jazz: Spread
Free Pick: Los Angeles -11.5
In my opinion the Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers have proven the how dominate they can be in the first game of the playoffs. The Cavs destroyed the aging Pistons, the Nuggets showed why they got Chauncey Billups and the Lakers kept playing like the best team in the league over the Jazz.
In the second half of their game against the Utah Jazz the Los Angeles Lakers struggled a bit on defense, but it wasn’t long before they were able to stop the bleeding and got back to totally out playing the Jazz on both ends of the floor.
As of right now the point spread for the game two in the Lakers and Jazz playoff series is at -11.5 in favor of the Lakers. At first I was thinking that was way too much to give them considering the fact that they only won game by 13 points, but when I looked at the trends I know why the Lakers will cover the spread.
Check out these trends that stuck out to me for game two:
- Jazz are 2-8 in their last 10 games after losing the game before
- Jazz are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games following a S.U. loss.
- Jazz are 2-10 in their last 12 games against Western conference teams.
- Jazz are 2-11 in their last 13 games.
- Jazz are 2-14 in their last 16 games as the underdog when they are on the road.
- Jazz are 2-15 in their last 17 games when they are the underdog.
- Jazz are 0-5 in their last five games after losing by more than 10 points.
- Jazz are 0-4 in their last four road games.
These are only a selected few that really stuck out to me when researching this game. It just comes down to the fact that the Jazz are a team that plays terrible on the road. They may give the Lakers a run for their money in Utah, but not in LA. Take the Lakers to cover the spread with ease in game two.
