torrey smith2* Freeplay: Wake -12.5

This is one of those games where the line doesn’t make any sense. Maryland is coming off a win over Clemson, and Wake Forest has looked less than inspiring this season. So why are we taking Wake Forest? It’s because of the fact that the majority of the public is on Maryland, yet the line has moved more than a full point since its opening at 11.

Last time Maryland went on the road, they lost by 40 points to a California team that’s looked very beatable as of late. Now they come to Wake Forest, where the Demon Deacons look like they might be putting together some momentum. Wake beat up on a good Stanford team at home, and they’ve been difficult to beat in the past. They also have a revenge angle here, after getting shutout in Maryland last season.

Maryland will be without its best offensive player, Da’rel Scott, who broke his wrist last week against Clemson. All signs point to Wake really putting a beating on Maryland here, especially with the amount of money that’s flowing in on Maryland. Expect the game to go the other way, so we’ll side with Vegas on this one.
