The 49ers showed some life in the 2nd half of last week’s game at Houston when Alex Smith replaced Shaun Hill. He was so impressive that he won the starting job back. I believe that Alex Smith will keep the 49ers in this one and cover the large spread. Indianapolis is feeling the injury bug.
Reggie Wayne is banged up along with Donald Brown, Adam Vinatieri and Anthony Gonzalez is still sidelined. Peyton Manning is off to his best start of his career statistically. The Colts are 6-0 and 5-1 ATS while the 49ers are only 3-3 but they are 4-1-1 ATS and are 2-0-1 ATS on the road. The Colts have covered 5 in a row but they have defeated teams with a combined record of 2-18 in the last 3 weeks. San Fran is a very solid team and I fully expect them to stay within the number and give the Colts are very good scare and could possibly win this game outright.
