The public is all over Dallas in this one because although the Broncos are undefeated, one of their wins was the result of a fluke play against Cincinnati and the other 2 were against two of the league’s weakest teams. These are very legitimate reasons to play Dallas.
However, the Broncos are listed above the Cowboys in terms of power rankings by most experts because they completely dominated the Raiders and Browns outscoring them by a combined margin of 41 points. This game is going to be won by the better defensive team because I can’t see too many points being scored. Tony Romo was spectacular against the Bucs in week 1 but since then has only thrown for 382 yards, 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions. The Cowboys have depended heavily on their ground game to move the ball. Denver’s defense has been stellar versus the run thus far allowing an average of 78.3 rushing yards per game ranking 7th in the league. The bottom line is that Tony Romo will struggle against the NFL’s number 1 ranked defense. Marion Barber and Tashard Choice will not be given easy yards and therefore the Cowboys will not score a lot of points in this contest. Denver’s offense has not been spectacular be they are facing a struggling Cowboys’ defense currently ranked 26th allowing an average of 382.7 yards per game. I think this will be a fairly close one and Denver will cover and likely win the game straight up.
