ronnie brown3* Free Play: Miami +6

The Dolphins definitely do not have nearly the amount of talent San Diego has but they will keep this game close and could possibly win the game outright. Over the past two seasons, the Chargers have the tendency to struggle significantly at the beginning of the season.

They were 1-3 in their first 4 contests in 2007 and 2-3 in their first 5 last year. They have not looked good in the first 2 contests of this young season as they were barely able to defeat the Raiders in week 1 and lost to the Ravens at home last week. Similar to last season, San Diego’s problem is not scoring points but keeping the opposition off the scoreboard. The Chargers are allowing 25.5 points per game. Miami is not a powerful offensive team that will light up the scoreboard but the Dolphins have a very efficient running game and the Chargers will have a lot of difficulty stopping it. San Diego is allowing 139 rushing yards and 4.3 yards per carry ranking 24th and 19th in those categories. Miami is averaging 167.5 rushing yards per game ranking 3rd in the league. Although the Dolphins lost 27-23 to the Colts last Monday they managed to keep Peyton Manning off the field for 75% of the game. They managed to do this because their running game kept their offense on the field. They will do the same in San Diego and will cover the number because of this.
