Please note that Alex’s restricted pick is on tonight’s total. The Broncos finally suffered their first loss of the season last week in Baltimore. However, they are 6-1 overall and ATS so far this season.
Pittsburgh is coming off of a bye week and is 5-2 but only 2-5 ATS. I will be the first to tell you that I have been a doubter every week with the Broncos. Big game for both teams here on Monday Night Football. Denver is 3-0 ATS this season at home while the Steelers are 1-2 on the road and 0-3 ATS. Yet in this game the Steelers are the favorite. The reason that the Steelers are favored is because so many people are doubters of this young Bronco team that is led by surprising quarterback Kyle Orton. Denver does not turn the ball over, in fact Orton has thrown only 1 interception and that was a meaningless play at the end of the first half versus New England. Denver’s defense has greatly improved only allowing 13.7 points per game and only 11.0 points per game at home. Pittsburgh is 6-19 in its last 29 as a 3 point or less road favorite. I would recommend buying the spread to 3.5 in case Pittsburgh does win by a field goal.
