Mike SingletaryPremium Pick: S.F. -1 (3 units)

This is a divisional matchup featuring two NFC West opponents who are looking to build off the momentum from their first win of the regular season. The 49ers upset the Cardinals 20-16 in Arizona, meanwhile the Seahawks creamed the Rams 28-0 at home.

I like San Fran in this one for several reasons. After last week’s win, the 49ers are now 6-3 under Singletary.

Without Michael Crabtree, the 49ers do lack depth offensively, particularly at wide receiver but they make up for it with solid defensive performances, heavily influenced by the presence of Mike Singletary. The 49ers’ defense limited the Cards to 16 points and intercepted Kurt Warner twice last week. If they are able to be this dominant in Arizona against one of the league’s toughest home teams, then it is quite logical to assume that they could do the same at home against one of the league’s poorest road teams. The Seahawks are 5-12 in their last 17 road contests. Two of those five wins were against St. Louis.

I believe that the 49ers will be a sleeper team this year and may have a legitimate change at winning the NFC West. Lay 3 units on the 49ers.
