San Francisco 49ers @ Minnesota Vikings
3* Free Play: S.F. +7
This is going to be matchup featuring two undefeated NFC opponents. The 49ers are undefeated because they have proven that they can stop the opposition, allowing only 13 points per game and 291 yards, ranking 4th and 7th in the league. The Vikings defeated the Browns and Lions by double digits.
This line is too inflated.
Although the Vikings did win their first two games by double digits, they weren’t really tested as they faced the Lions and the Browns, two teams that have combined for a total of 4 wins since the beginning of last season.
Minnesota was easily able to dominate these teams by running the ball. Adrian Peterson already has 4 rushing touchdowns and is averaging 6.8 yards per carry. I can guarantee that he will not put up these kinds of numbers against S.F. The 49ers are allowing an average of only 53 rushing yards per game and 2.7 yards per carry ranking 3rd and 4th in those respective categories. Additionally, he is dealing with a back injury. One can argue that the teams that S.F. faced, Arizona and Seattle, do not have much of a ground attack but the numbers are still quite impressive. There is no question that they will give Adrian Peterson a run for his money. The 49ers are also a run first offense and Frank Gore may not match his production last week but should be able to help the Niners move the chains since the Vikings rank 15th in run defense.
If San Fran loses it won’t be by more than a touchdown.
