In this west-coast matchup between two teams with much to prove going into the final stretch of the NHL regular season, expect a gritty, low-scoring game, with the Montreal Canadiens pulling off the win.

Both teams started the season off with a bang but have been struggling considerably of late, most notably between the pipes. Relief goaltender Jaroslav Halak will be starting for the Canadiens, hoping to continue building on a 10-2 record while starter Carey Price was recovering from an ankle injury. Since Price’s return the Canadiens have gone 2-6. Following an embarrassing loss at the hands of their arch rivals the Maple Leafs and a strenuous no-puck practice, the Habs will explode with a strong effort from the get-go, and will likely rely on strong goaltending to hold on. On the Calgary side, Mikka Kipprusoff is displaying some of the worse numbers of his career with a 2.82 GAA and a 0.904 save percentage on the season. Expect strong defensive support around him, with a limit to the number of attackers in front of the net and available rebounds.
