2* Selection: OVER 6

Just about every hockey fan knows that the Penguins have one of the elite offenses in the NHL. The Pens have been hot as of late, scoring 13 goals in their last 2 contests. The fact that Colorado’s number 1 netminder, Craig Anderson, is out gives us more than enough reason to believe that Pittsburgh should be able to light up the scoreboard relatively easily.

Backup Peter Budaj has struggled immensely this season. He has only 3 starts and has a G.A.A. of 4.28 and a save percentage of only 0.855. There are several trends that also work in our favor here. OVER is 7-1 in Colorado’s last 8 versus the Atlantic and 6-2 in their last 8 overall. OVER is 4-0 in Pittsburgh’s last 4 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous contest and 15-7 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous contest. OVER is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings in Pittsburgh. The total is high but very attainable given the circumstances of this matchup. Expect this to be a 4-3 or 5-3 win for the Pens.
