The Stars are in a very strong position to come out with the victory and oddsmakers are giving them positive odds. Therefore there is a lot of value playing the Stars in this matchup. Dallas is coming off a 6-5 shootout loss to Florida yesterday but their starting goaltender Marty Turco was given the day off. He will get the start tonight against a team that he has faced twice already this season, allowing a total of only 2 goals in those contests.

There is a substantial amount of value in playing the UNDER in this matchup, especially considering that oddsmakers are giving positive odds. Fortunately San Jose is playing at home, where they clearly play at their best, particularly defensively. The Sharks are allowing an average of only 1.5 goals per game at home this season.
3* Selection: Vancouver +106
Detroit has yet to win a game on the road this season. Life won’t be any easier for the Red Wings as they travel to Vancouver. The Canucks are 5-1 at home this season and have allowed only 6 goals to the opposition in their last 5 home contests.

The Blue Jackets and Kings have each started the season strong. One of the main reasons why they have had a strong start is because each team is able to score at will. Offensively these teams are combining for 6.9 goals per game.

In 19 seasons of hockey Roy holds the record for 551 wins, he’s won two Conn Smythe Trophies, three Vezina Trophies and four Jennings Trophies, not to mention the pair of Stanley Cups he helped win for both Montreal and the Colorado Avalanche, eventually earning him a spot in the NHL’s Hockey Hall of Fame. “St-Patrick’s” No. 33 was already retired by the Avalanche in 2003, but on Nov. 22nd the gesture will historically symbolize that all is forgiven, and that Patrick Roy’s incredible career in Montreal will never be forgotten. |
