4* Selection: Boston -130

This is definitely not the most attractive line, especially considering that we are taking a shot against last year’s Stanley Cup Champions. However, all signs point towards an easy win for Boston. The Pens are plagued with injuries. Malkin and Gonchar are out and Letang is questionable.

Since Malkin’s injury, the Penguins are averaging only 2 goals per game and they haven’t even scored on the power play. They come to Boston to face a tough Bruins’ defense that has only been allowing 1.2 goals per game in its last 5 contests. Tim Thomas has been absolutely dominant as of late, stopping at least 90% of the shots he faced in his last 6 starts and allowing only 6 goals in his last 4. Marc Andre Fleury on the other hand has struggled as of late, allowing an average of 3 goals per game in his last 6 starts. In fact, in Fleury’s last 6 starts he only had one strong game and that was at home against the struggling Canadiens. He was only 1-4 in the other five contests and he allowed an average of 3.4 goals per game and had a save percentage of 0.854. Pittsburgh is 6-15 the last 21 meetings in Boston. Expect the Bruins to win this one convincingly.
