My logic for this pick, cowboys vs packers, is the exact same as my over pick for the New Orleans/Denver game; two high powered offenses against two mediocre defenses. Many will argue that the Packers and the Cowboys have a substantial amount of depth on defense but the reality is that both teams are ranked in the bottom half of the league in points allowed. Green Bay has allowed an average of 22 points per game meanwhile Dallas has allowed 23.5. |
| I mentioned in the over pick for the Denver game that in week 2 there were 6 games where more than 51 total points were scored by both teams. The Packers and the Cowboys both played in one of those games. Interestingly enough, the total for both games these teams played in was over 70 points.
The Packers and the Cowboys are on fire. Green Bay ranks third in points scored, averaging 36 points per game and Dallas ranks fourth averaging 34.5. The only reason that people would be afraid to bet on this game is because 51.5 points is a very high target to break. The bottom line is that these teams can very easily do it. Both quarterbacks have already thrown 4 touchdowns, completed at least 70% of their passes and have a rating above 110. Expect this to be a very exciting Sunday night game, similar to the Eagles/Cowboys game. This will be a back and forth game where points will be scored on just about every drive. The field goal and punt kickers will rarely see the field.
