Washington Redskins vs Philadelphia Eagles

The rivalry between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins is one marked by an extreme competitiveness and proximity. If NFL rivalries are your thing, then you would most certainly be a fan of the NFC’s east division. It is full of good, history rich teams that not only have histories with each other, but also play hugely important games with championship implications.

The Eagles have been very successful as a franchise, both in the forgotten past and in more recent times. They went to the Super Bowl in 2004 and have won the East five times during this decade alone. This, along with their remarkable consistency, has made them the team to beat in the division.

The Redskins have had their share of success in the past, but beating the teams in their division has been something of a challenge as of late. Washington is full of tradition and they have an excellent fan base, but their struggles have taken a toll as of late. Though Philly has had their number lately, the Redskins have regularly been competitive in this rivalry, making it one that has endured.

Premium Pick: Philadelphia -5

This is a divisional matchup featuring the Eagles and the Redskins. The last time these teams met, the Redskins upset the Eagles 23-17 in week 5. At one point this season, the Redskins were 6-2. After losing 5 of their last 6, they find themselves at 7-7 and out of the playoffs. The Eagles are in the NFC playoff race but absolutely cannot afford to lose their final two games.

It took some time but it appears that the players are buying into Jim Zorn’s west coast offense. Jason Campbell struggled in week 1 but since then has been phenomenal. He has a rating of 102.2, 6 touchdowns and has yet to throw an interception. He has been quite efficient and when the Eagles vs Redskins, will give the Eagles’ defense a run for their money.
