I have to admit the game between the Indianapolis Colts vs Tennessee Titans is a very tough game to handicap. Tennessee is favoured by 4 and with good reason. They are undefeated and have more or less dominated the opposition in every outing. The Colts have yet to wake up. They appeared to have rediscovered their dominant form in their impressive 31-3 thumping over Baltimore 2 weeks ago. Then they get demolished by Green Bay last week.

Go figure… Analysts can analyze this game left, right and center but the reality is it can easily go either way. My recommendation is to bet over. The total has gone under in each of the last 6 meetings between the 2 teams. However, Monday night football games have been full of surprises all year and as a result the over record for this season’s MNF games is 7-0-1. Both teams can score points. The Colts are desperate for the victory. The only way Indy will win this one is if Peyton Manning basically plays a perfect game and is clicking with his offense. At this point the Colts will have to rely almost completely on their passing game to move the ball. The Titans have only allowed an average of 11 points per game but their defense has still not been tested by a football team with a winning record. The Colts can’t afford to lose and will bring their “A” game like they did against Baltimore. The Ravens are a very similar as the Titans and Indy was able to score 31 points against them. The Colts may not put 31 points on the board but I would expect at least 20-25. The Colts are still without Bob Sanders and appear to no longer have the same kind of intimidating defense they have had over the years. They rank 15th in points allowed and 18th in yards allowed. The biggest mismatch in this matchup is the Colts run defense versus Tennessee’s rushing attack. The Colts rank 29th in yards allowed on the ground, meanwhile the Titans are 3rd in the NFL in rushing. Therefore it is quite obvious that Tennessee will run Indy to the ground. The Titans lead the league with 11 rushing touchdowns. This is significant factor for this kind of bet because it shows that Tennessee should be able to score touchdowns tonight. Expect this to be a fairly high scoring affair with a combined total of 45-50 points scored between both teams.
