derek andersonFree Pick: Under 44.5

This matchup consists of 2 winless teams that have struggled a lot offensively. Cleveland is the worst ranked team in the league in terms of yards gained and points scored. The Browns are averaging only 8.7 points per game! Cincinnati is not doing much better as the Bengals are currently ranked 30th in the league with 13.3 points.

However, they are coming off a much more encouraging performance where they managed to score 23 points against the Giants, one of the biggest defensive powerhouses in the league. Both teams’ defense is mediocre but the Bengals’ defense is probably good enough to limit the Browns to 10 points or less unless Derek Anderson finds a way to resurrect his offense. Interestingly enough the total has gone under in all of Cleveland’s 3 games and 2 of Cincinnati’s first 3 games. I can see the Bengals getting something going on offense but not produce more than 24 points. There is tremendous value in betting under a 44.5 point total in a game featuring two of the league’s most offensively struggling teams. Additionally, under is 4-0 in the last 4 games in Cincinnati and 8-1 in Cleveland’s last 9 overall.
