andre johnsonPremium Pick: Tennessee Titans -3

The Titans are 9-0 and still not getting the respect they deserve. They have arguably the most intimidating defense in the NFL and are proving that they are not a one dimensional offense. They may not have the same kind of depth as last year’s 16-0 New England Patriots, but they are overcoming obstacles in order to find ways to win. They are only favoured by 3 because oddsmakers are anticipating the fact that they are due for a bad game. This has to be the best coached team in the NFL. Honestly, if they are going to lose a game it will have to be against a team that has a substantial amount of depth and is also well coached. Jacksonville won’t be the team that puts an end to their winning streak.

The Titans are not an offensive powerhouse but they proved last week that their passing game is just as efficient as their running game. Tennessee rushed for only 20 yards in their 21-14 victory over Chicago. Kerry Collins came to the rescue throwing for 289 yards and 2 touchdowns. Either way, the Titans are averaging 24.4 points per game, ranking 10th in the league. You can expect the Titans to run the ball more against Jacksonville since the Jags do not have a strong run defense. They are allowing an average of 113.1 rushing yards per game ranking 20th in the NFL. The Titans are averaging 134.8 rushing yards per game ranking 6th in the league. Overall, the Titans will be able to move the ball against Jacksonville with relative ease.

Prior to this season the Jaguars were considered to be a super bowl contender. However, they have been quite mediocre on both sides of the football this season and are likely to not make the playoffs with their 4-5 record. Tennessee is allowing only 13 points per game, the least in the NF and has the best turnover differential of +10. Any mediocre team will have a substantial amount of difficulty defeating a team that is this strong defensively. Jacksonville’s offense is only rated 18th in the league. The Titans would have to have a complete defensive collapse in order to lose.

The Jags have played quite poorly at home with a 1-3 record and haven’t beaten the spread a single time. They are not the same team that made it to the playoffs last year. The payout for the Titans with the spread is at +105 or 1.05. There is a lot of value in this pick. Tennessee will cover the 3 points.

Prediction: Tennessee 27 Jacksonville 20
